A surprisingly easy DIY with great results that can jazz up any old skirt you have around! I’ve mentioned my love for Alexander Wang’s brilliance in this previous post and wanted to recreate a piece similar to his, because let’s be real, I don’t have that kind of money to spend on one of his skirts no matter how much I want it. I was surprised at how well this DIY turned out to be honest, it adds that hint of extra skin and makes your skirt a little extra special and everyone will be asking you were you got it the next time you go out!

COST: Under $10

I’ve done another Alexander Wang DIY last year – the Alexander Wang Rocco Bag, click HERE if you’re interested!

1. Draw out on the adhesive paper where you want to cut the slots and space them out evenly

2. Attach the adhesive strips with your slot templates at the base of the skirt

3. Start cutting out the slots. the adhesive paper will prevent the fabric from moving around so you can get nice clean edges.

4. Remove the adhesive template

5. Now repeat on the other side for a continuous pattern around the skirt to create the suspension like illusion.

  1. The shirt's actually from Abercrombie, but should be simple enough as adding a bit of lace to the hem of your shirt 🙂 Hope that helps!
