Spending this much time at home has resulted in me picking up new hobbies and embroidering and cross-stitching seems to be a calming task for days I want to be away from a screen. Embroidery may seem like something a grandma does, but with a modern twist can be the coolest edition to your DIY-belt of skills!

I decided to embroider a crewneck I had on hand with this cute shark detail that I had spotted previously at Aritzia in a past season. The result is super cute and with my own twist makes it one of a kind! Read on to learn how to embroider your own clothes and create cool custom pieces!

See here for a previous post in which I embroidered a T-shirt!

DIY | EMBROIDERED STAR TEE

Wearing: DIY Star Tee, Vintage Bandanna, the 5th watch, Fashion Drug Tiger Mini Bag, Zara Jeans (old), and Aldo Mules

In honor of breast cancer month, I felt like making a bust enhancing tee where the details are all front and center. Two stars right where the nipples are located, a breast friendly tee that’s fun and a great alternative to a basic t-shirt. This is a quick and easy DIY that plays on the embroidery trend which is great to do for yourself or as a gift to someone else.Β  Feel free to modify this tutorial to place an embroidery design anywhere you like and have it be anything you like! You could do phrases, roses, multiple stars… your imagination is your own limitation! I chose to do stars since it’s a hot shape for fall and I love that it kind of makes the shirt taboo with their placement (if you know what I mean). Read on to see how I created this embroidered star tee!

DIY | EMBROIDERED SNEAKERS GUCCI

Patches are still hot thanks to Gucci and these shoes are right on trend with a floral embroidered applique. An easy DIY to jazz up a pair of plain white sneakers that are perfect for spring. I love pairing these with jeans and they will also look pretty cool with cutoff shorts for summer. If you want to make them closer to the Gucci sneakers, feel free to paint the sides of the white sneakers! I personally liked the plain white with just the patch detailing.
