This is a nail art design inspired by Dior’s iconic Diorama bag. Its simplistic linear geo pattern is mesmerizing and after seeing it on Janice Joostemaa’s nails, I knew I had to recreate it myself! Feminine yet with a bit of edge thanks to those metallic lines, I think this will be a mani I’ll be rocking a lot this spring in different colour combos. Can you imagine this with a rosegold base and white lines? Mmmm gorgeous!
Read on if you’d like to know how I created this iconic pattern on my nails!
Polishes used are Essie’s Gel Coutour Top Coat and Fairy Tailor, and Butter London’s Bobby Dazzler.
It’s finally sweater weather!!! We recently got some snow this weekend in Montreal, but unfortunately it’ll all be gone by Christmas…sigh no white Christmas this year. But no worries it’s still just as chilly as if it were to snow so it’s totally acceptable to wrap yourself up in sweaters and blankets.
Let’s cozy on up with some warm knits and pair it with matching sweater nails. I think I’ve finally nailed down how to do it with just regular nail polish, granted its a bit finicky but the end result is a sweet cable knit texture on the nails. I didn’t get a chance to snap tutorial pictures but it’s pretty straight forward.
- Paint nails two coats in base colour and let dry
- Take some of the same nail polish and place it on a plastic top, take a dotter tool and swirl the nail polish till it thickens. This thickened polish will act like the 3D gel polish used in the original tutorials online.
- Apply thickened nail polish with the dotter tool to the nails in cable knit pattern, repeat this a few times to make it super 3D!
- Apply a matte top coat (matte just hides all the imperfections)
This will probably be my final post before the New Year so Happy Holidays to everyone and I’ll see you all in the New Year!
Whew! Already November and the first semester of my final year is flying by! It has been quite the chaotic semester and it’s been hard keeping on top of blogging but I shall try my best!
These nails, inspired by my good friend Alex are so chic! Simple and super easy, this reverse french mani will have them compliments hitting you left, right and center! I used Essie polishes, Penny Talk and Stylenomics; both perfect for the fall weather. I love the deep green jewel tone of Stylenomics, has been ready and excited for the holiday season to start! What colours will you be doing this manicure in?
